Kids out of school and looking for something fun to occupy their time?  Interested in learning a new skill?  Mark your calendars for our yearly Summer Arts Camp.  In 2022 we were excited to be able to open the program to ages 6 to adult.  Campers, guided by our artist instructors, created and learned different art skills every day of camp.  Camp runs during the month of June, finishing with a showcase at the Kelli O’Hara Center for Performing Arts.

We are excited to offer our 2025 Summer Arts Camp – June 2 through 26, 2025 for ages 6 and up!  We have many new classes, along with some of your favorite old ones.  Let’s make the 2025 Summer Arts Camp and summer to remember!
Classes will be held at the Susan Powell Fine Arts Building.  Tuition for each class (a class is 8 sessions) is $35.  A t-shirt is included with each registration.
*Limited class size.  Please note: 5 or more campers per class or it will be canceled.*
The camp will end with a Showcase of all the work on June 26, 2025, at 7 pm at the Kelli O’Hara Elk City Pioneer Performing Arts Center.

MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY

9:00 AM TO 10:15 AM

ART FOR BEGINNERS:  Love to create, draw, or paint?  Want to learn how?  Join us in Art for Beginners where each student will learn different art mediums and work towards a showcase.

10:30 AM TO 11:45 AM

ARTS AND CRAFTS:  Arts and crafts activities can enhance the children’s dexterity and agility. With the enhancement of fine motor skills and much practice, a child’s manual dexterity, artistic skills, and speed will also increase. Join us in Arts and Crafts where each student will craft and create numerous projects and work towards a showcase.

OR YOU CAN TAKE

S.T.E.A.M.: This summer we are going to focus on Art that goes hand in hand with science, technology, engineering and math— STEAM! Join us for building our own fidget spinners & mazes, growing crystals, dyeing flowers, coloring geometric patterns, foldable 3D crafts, and more! Of course, we will also incorporate summer holidays and fun! Join us in STEAM where each student will create as they work towards a showcase.

TUESDAY AND THURSDAY

9:00 AM TO 10:15 AM

YOUTH ACTING:  Your young actors will be introduced to the world of live theater all while learning some basic skills. These include terminology, warm-ups, acting games, the audition process, as well as the rehearsal process. These skills help build self-confidence and self-esteem all while preparing for a final show. All skill levels are welcome. 

10:30 AM TO 11:45 AM

MUSICAL THEATRE: Singing and danincing, oh my!  An introduction to the world of musical theatre all while learning some basic skills.  May include songs from shows like: Annie, Aladdin, Wizard of Oz and more! These include terminology, choreography, and more. These skills help build self-confidence and self-esteem all while preparing for a final show. All skill levels are welcome.

OR YOU CAN TAKE

MUSIC FOR KIDS: Love music? This class is for you! Come learn drumming with us. Join us in Music for Kids! We will also be performing at a showcase.

All Age 12 and Up Classes will run one week, Monday through Friday, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

JUNE 2-6, 2025

MONDAY – FRIDAY

FIND YOUR VOICE: Want to sing, but don’t know where to start?  Here is the class for you, it will answer all the major questions you might have about singing and will help you to start with your first exercises on the way to finding your true voice.  All skill levels are welcome while preparing for a final showcase. 

OR

GARDENING FOR BEGINNERS: Whether you are a green thumb or not, join us to learn all there is about healthy soil, planting, and more for the perfect techniques for an amazing garden.  When you follow these fundamentals, your plants will be healthy and your garden will thrive – even when gardens around you are failing.  All skill levels are welcome while preparing for a final showcase. 

Week 2

JUNE 9-13, 2025

MONDAY – FRIDAY

1:00 PM TO 3:00 PM

ALL YOU NEED IS MUSIC:  Join us to learn or improve your music knowledge as you learn to sing in a choir.  All skill levels are welcome while preparing for a final showcase.

OR

FLORAL DESIGN FOR BEGINNERS:  Enjoy receiving flowers? Now learn how to arrange the perfect bouquet.  Sharpen your skills and refresh your creativity, all while learning to create from within and master essential floral design mechanics.  This class is excellent for floral hobbyists, side hustlers, floral design freelancers, and more.  All skill levels are welcome while preparing for a final showcase.  

OR

CREATIVE WRITING:  Learn how to write poetry, stories, and maybe even a play.  Each student will learn skills to help improve their writing working towards an anthology at the end of class.

Week 3

JUNE 16-20, 2025

MONDAY – FRIDAY

JUNE 23-27, 2025

UPCYCLED ART: Give everyday items and recyclable materials a new life. This sustainable art class will help us see the beauty and potential in non-traditional art materials! We’ll make masterpieces by using creativity to transform everyday materials.
